16-Page Booklet Imposition
Four nested sheets
Sixteen reader pages fill four sheets. The formula is the same as the 8-page case with N=16. Outer sheet 16|1 and 2|15. Innermost 10|7 and 8|9, which become the center spread.
| Sheet | Front L|R | Back L|R |
|---|---|---|
| 0 | 16 | 1 | 2 | 15 |
| 1 | 14 | 3 | 4 | 13 |
| 2 | 12 | 5 | 6 | 11 |
| 3 | 10 | 7 | 8 | 9 |
Creep starts to show at this length on heavy stock. Use the creep calculator if inner sheets look like they drift. Sample file: 16-page sample.
Four sheets means S=4. Toward-spine creep puts nothing on sheet 0, one third of total on sheet 1, two thirds on sheet 2, and the full total on sheet 3. That is δ(i) = totalCreep × i / 3. Gutter still applies equally to every sheet: each spine edge loses the full gutter value. If you only needed a page-order table, the page order calculator will label the slots on your own file.
Export produces eight PDF pages (Front and Back for each of four sheets). Print duplex, flip on long edge, 100% / actual size, booklet mode off. Fold all four sheets together as one signature. Do not staple each sheet separately. Jog the head. Two or three staples on the fold. This site will not order paper or wire from a bindery; it only builds the imposed PDF in your browser.
