Zine Printing Imposition

Zine printing imposition is the same geometry as any other saddle-stitch booklet: 2-up sheets, one signature, pad to a multiple of four. The difference is cultural, not mathematical—short runs, photocopiers, colored paper, a stapler on a kitchen table. The Zine default preset sets a 3 mm gutter and no creep, which is enough for a thin photocopied booklet.

Keep the file local. This site will not upload your PDF, host a shop, or merge three minicomics into one. Drop the export from your layout app, preview Sheets, export, print duplex. If your zine is 7 pages, you will see three blanks at the end. That is correct. Do not delete a blank you placed on purpose in the source; source blanks count as reader pages.

A typical half-letter zine starts as portrait pages. Auto paper makes a landscape sheet two pages wide. If that sheet is larger than Letter landscape, the tool warns you to pick Letter so the printer can take it. Flip on long edge. Do not enable the copier’s booklet button after this export—that would impose twice. Fold the stack as one signature. A long-reach stapler is enough.

Thick card covers are optional. Page 1 is already the cover in the formula. If you designed bleed, type the inset; the tool will not find printer marks for you. Artwork is CropBox else MediaBox. Mixed page sizes fit inside page 1 by default. English UI, millimeters or inches, no account.
